Under the Conservative government the unemployment rate has dropped from 7.9% down to 4.3%. This is the lowest unemployment rate since 1975. Currently there are 32.21 million people in the work force which is 415,000 more than for a year earlier.
Recent figures have shown that, despite the gloomy projections of many economists and Remainers alike, Britain is in fact going from strength to strength in terms of its employment rate, which stands at a record high of 75.3%.
Nigel Evans, MP for the Ribble Valley, has praised the Government’s decision to invest £246 million to develop battery technology, a move which aims to drive the UK towards its modern industrial strategy.
It has been revealed that 10 police stations in Lancashire, including Clitheroe, are in line to lose their counter staff by next January. The removal of counter staff essentially means affected police stations will not have their doors open for general public enquiries.
