Save Slaidburn Surgery

Nigel Evans has called on the Department for Health to meet with him to discuss the future of Slaidburn Medical Centre, which has long been under threat of closure. The contract for the Medical Centre, which has 1,100 patients from Slaidburn and surrounding villages, is out for procurement with the CCG pushing to find a new provider.

Nigel Evans calls for Calderstones to benefit from new NHS pot

Nigel Evans has called on Calderstones Hospital to become a beneficiary of the additional funding granted to the NHS by the Prime Minister. Boris Johnson recently announced a £1.8 billion pot for improvements to NHS frontline services including a £33 million grant for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Nigel Evans has hailed the surge in grassroots party membership since Boris Johnson’s swearing in as the Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister. Local associations across the UK, including Ribble Valley, have seen dozens of members join since Boris beat Jeremy Hunt in the membership ballot last month.

Nigel Evans has claimed that Boris Johnson is the “right man for the job” after he was elected as Leader of the Conservative Party. Today’s victory means that Boris becomes the successor to Theresa May as the Prime Minister and will formally take over tomorrow afternoon.

Nigel Evans has echoed the words of the Prime Minister in calling for a full removal of the Irish backstop from any withdrawal deal with the EU. Boris Johnson has written to the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, outlining the government’s commitment to securing a new deal before October 31st, one that removes the controversial ‘Irish backstop’
