Evans MP: Queen’s speech a “breath of fresh air”

Boris Johnson’s government today set out their political agenda for the course of the next parliament through a Queen’s Speech which will be debated upon until this Thursday, when MPs will vote on whether to pass its contents. The ambitious plan prioritises key domestic issues with policies on crime, health and the environment while setting out the government’s stall for the UK’s relationship with the EU post-Brexit.

Nigel Evans delighted with the announcement of 153 new police officers for Lancashire

Nigel Evans, MP for the Ribble Valley has voiced his satisfaction at today’s announcement by the Home Secretary that Lancashire will receive 153 new Police Officers in the next 12 months. The news comes as the Home Office released police recruitment forces from all 43 forces in England and Wales.

Changes to Summer/Autumn Surgery Schedule

I have unfortunately had to take the decision to amend one of my Summer/Autumn Surgery dates - this is due to the possibility of Parliament sitting on Friday 1st November to pass emergency Brexit legislation. The UK Government has announced plans to extend international students post-study visas from 4 months to two years. Universities and the higher education sector have welcomed the change in rules which will allow foreign students to stay in the UK for up to two years after they graduate in order to seek employment. Nigel Evans: Lancashire Labour MPs "running scared”

Nigel Evans has accused Lancashire’s Labour MPs of ’running scared’ of a General Election after they refused to back the Prime Minister’s motion last night. All of Lancashire’s Labour MPs abstained, apart from Hyndburn MP Graham Jones, who broke the party whip to vote against the motion.

Slaidburn Medical Centre saved!

Nigel Evans has hailed the continuation of services at Slaidburn Medical Centre as “a community triumph” upon hearing the news that East Lancashire CCG has found a new provider for a period of two years.
